Best known for its premium wines, Yarra Valley also finds a prominent spot on the map of beer enthusiasts with local producers offering unique beers, ciders and spirits. The history of beer in the region goes back to the early 1800s as growing hops was a major farming activity. In fact, it is the birthplace of Australian Champagne cider. And while those farms have blurred in the past, the craft breweries in Yarra Valley are ensuring that beer remains a part of the present and future.
